The 22nd global edition of the World Blockchain Summit will bring together some of the world's leading crypto influencers, policymakers, key government delegates, media, family offices, HNIs and other curated investors, among others, to foster the crypto and blockchain community across the globe.

World Blockchain Summit Dubai is taking place on Oct. 17 and 18, 2022 at Atlantis, The Palm. It is one of the most elite gatherings of the global crypto and blockchain ecosystem.

Dubai has set its sights on becoming a global tech hub by attracting entrepreneurs, investors and even crypto influencers as the sector's market capitalization hits $1.4 trillion, up 86% year-on-year, with the Middle East's blockchain market anticipated to be worth $3.2 billion by 2023.

The UAE has begun implementing crypto regulation in the past year, issuing more than 30 exchange licenses and establishing a devoted regulatory body. But will UAE's new regulatory structure make the market grow even faster? Will the Emirati government be able to regulate cryptocurrency quickly and effectively? World Blockchain Summit aims to answer the most pressing questions and bring together industry experts and thought leaders to understand what the future of blockchain and crypto looks like — not just in the case of Dubai, but also the world.

In line with Dubai's vision of being a global Web3 hub, leadership backer and provider of a digital asset regulatory framework, the summit will feature presentations, use-case studies and educational sessions by global technology providers who will be showcasing their latest innovations designed with the primary focus of enabling businesses and organizations to adopt blockchain and crypto solutions.

Mohammed Saleem, the founder of World Blockchain Summit, commented: "The government's focus on blockchain is evident in the UAE, with various initiatives and ventures related to the technology. The event will essentially explore what lies ahead for the UAE in terms of blockchain adoption in various industries as well as technological and regulatory advancements."

The research approach applied for reconstructing long-term changes in marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning is relatively new and must be multidisciplinary while dealing with periods that date back well before the birth of ââ,¬Å"modern scienceââ,¬Â. Up till now, the activities carried out world wide in this research field have been characterized by a certain heterogeneity in terms of approach and methodologies. One of the main reasons is, among others, the many difficulties that emerge due to the different languages and backgrounds, which characterize humanities, social sciences, environmental and ecological disciplines. As a result, building a common base for communication and knowledge between these ââ,¬Å"separatedââ,¬Â worlds is of great necessity.

The curriculum of the Summer School is therefore multidisciplinary and aims to reach the following outcomes:
- to strengthen the basis of multidisciplinary approach in the framework of marine environmental and ecological history studies with special emphasis to the Mediterranean Sea, including the Black Sea.
- to contribute to build up bridges between humanities, social sciences, environmental and ecological approaches especially in students and young scientists, providing a common language and a better understanding of reciprocal needs and potential.

Whereas humanities (history, archaeology, zoo-archaeology) and social sciences (anthropology) may provide valuable analyses and data regarding both historical insight of humans settlement and of the use of natural resources, the environmental and ecological disciplines may provide methodologies to analyze gathered and more recent data in the context of ecological theory and build up predictive models which might shed light on the possible trends in marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.

Institutions of higher education and their students are becoming more aware of their collective impact on the environment. In addition, recent economic concerns combined with new administration and leadership in our government has created a push for more sustainable campuses and businesses. Some schools are committing to achieve carbon neutrality; others are promoting sustainability by greening buildings and operations, promoting recycling, and educating their students, faculty, and staff on sustainable lifestyles.

The benefits of achieving sustainability include mitigation of rising energy costs and meeting changing student expectations in an increasingly competitive marketplace. However, a truly sustainable campus can only be achieved comprehensivelyââ,¬â€œit must include institution-wide support and address sustainable practices from a multi-departmental perspective. This conference will offer sustainability coordinators and those charged with organizing sustainability efforts across campus the skills to create a roadmap for promoting a culture of sustainability on your campus.
